Malaysian Mobile Telecommunications Company U Mobile Bhd and Edotco have formed a cooperation to hasten the deployment of the 5G network under the government’s dual network architecture. In a joint statement, the companies stated that U Mobile will benefit from Edotco’s extensive tower network and experience.

Under the terms of the memorandum of understanding, Edotco will offer U Mobile with information and access to its tower infrastructures, as well as resource preparedness and expedited site delivery, to help U Mobile put out its 5G network.

U Mobile and Edotco will also collaborate to build a streamlined procedure to drive efficiency in selecting the suitable tower locations and structures based on AI and data-driven analytics, faster and more efficient site acquisition and permissions by engaging with multiple state agencies.
In addition, the two parties will explore commercial arrangements for various infrastructure requirements, such as built-to-suit sites, co-locations, site improvements, and indoor coverage, with the goal of creating a cost-effective and competitive solution that will allow for a rapid deployment.
