Toronto Pearson’s Busiest Runway :
During this holiday season, Toronto Pearson International Airport has opened its second busiest runway. The $80-million project was completed in about a year and a half and officially opened on Monday morning. The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) said that the runway was in desperate need to get upgrades concerning the safety of passengers.
Omar Alghabra, Canada’s Transport Minister was also present along with GTAA officials and others for the opening. Alghabra in his statement states that “This is a massive project that was completed on time and on budget,” he also adds that its “unusual to attend a ground-breaking and ribbon cutting” for such huge projects in the same year. Despite the problems of the last couple of years, airports like Pearson have kept Canadians connected…and projects like this are helping the aviation industry recover and be better.”
The GTAA informed that due to modern innovation and advanced planning the project got completed on time with a sustainable approach.
