Please brief us about yourself and tell us your source of inspiration for venturing into this niche.

I am Madhusmita Nayak, presently holding the position of Strategy and Corporate Performance manager in a renowned Integrated Facility Management firm. My professional journey commenced in UAE back in 2008 as a Business Development executive in a financial institution. I was able to climb up the corporate ladder within six years, starting from an executive position to Manager -Enterprise Performance in the same organization. Subsequently, I shifted my focus from the finance sector to the Regulatory Governmental sector, where I served as a Senior Strategy Professional before entering the Facility Management industry.

My forte in career advancement lies in my ability to work across various sectors and assimilate the best practices from each. I draw inspiration from the community of professionals that I am a part of, particularly the women professionals, as well as from my superiors, colleagues, and family, who have consistently provided me with encouragement, empowerment, and support throughout my career development. The drive to explore new avenues and take calculated risks fuels my enthusiasm and purpose, keeping me motivated every day.

Kindly elaborate upon your journey as the guiding light of your organization and how you have positioned it as a reliable name in the corporate world.

For the last 15 years, I have been employed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), working in various sectors, including private, government, and semigovernment organizations in Dubai. Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience in the areas of strategy, business excellence, and business development.

What are your thoughts on the need for representation of women in the corporate world, and how important is it for the growth of women today?

The current scenario is vastly distinct from what it was a few years ago. It’s an undeniable fact that women’s progress is inevitable regardless of the industry or profession they are part of. Women’s innate empathy and logical reasoning skills make them an indispensable part of business and boardroom decision-making processes. In the contemporary corporate world, it’s crucial to have women represented at every level of management, from entry-level positions to the boardroom.

Having a broad experience in the business field, what is your opinion on the integration of technological advancements in business, especially when it comes to catering to the dynamic needs of the corporate sector?

In order to remain competitive in the business world, technology and innovation must be a core component of every individual, department, and organization. It is not solely the responsibility of the technology and transformation department to focus on these areas, but rather, it should be viewed as an enabler for all employees to facilitate success in the industry. Ultimately, the ability to embrace and leverage technology and innovation is the key differentiating factor for sustained success in business.

What advice would you give to aspiring women leaders who are looking to make a difference in their industries?
