Ed Rice: Transforming Media Through Technology

In a time where technology is advancing faster than ever, ethical questions are struggling to keep up. AI can make decisions in a blink, self-driving cars move through busy streets, and data is collected more quickly than we can imagine. But with all this progress, important questions remain: How do we protect our privacy? What happens if a self-driving car causes an accident? And how do we keep our personal data safe from being misused by systems we barely understand?

Technological breakthroughs have the potential to enhance lives, but without a robust ethical framework, they risk causing unintended harm. It’s no longer just about what we can do with technology, but what we should do. As innovation accelerates, it’s essential for policymakers, businesses, and technologists to work together to ensure that humanity’s moral compass isn’t lost in the race. Because, ultimately, technology should serve to uplift society, not undermine its core values.

Ed Rice, Chief Technology Officer at Educational Media Foundation (K-LOVE) and a seasoned enterprise technology leader, is at the forefront of this transformation. With a career spanning over two decades, he has consistently demonstrated his ability to leverage technology to enhance operational efficiency and foster growth.

Ed’s journey began with a solid educational foundation, holding degrees in religious studies, business, and technology. His early career included pivotal roles at Hewlett Packard, where he led the successful separation of the company into two Fortune 50 entities. This monumental task required innovative strategies and meticulous planning, showcasing his exceptional leadership skills. Under his guidance, the separation office was able to split a fortune 15 company into two fortune 50 companies in 9 months with no technical entanglement.

At K-LOVE, Ed has spearheaded initiatives that integrate artificial intelligence and robotics into everyday operations. His robotics program not only streamlined processes but also contributed industry best radio and streaming uptime of greater than 5 9’s, auto translation and localization (in text and speech) This innovative approach has positioned K-LOVE as a leader in utilizing technology for good, aligning with Ed’s vision of creating ethical AI solutions that meet business needs while preparing organizations for future challenges.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Ed is dedicated to education and community service. As the Executive Tech Division Chair at Jessup Global at William Jessup University, he shares his extensive knowledge with aspiring leaders in business strategy and technology.  This spring Jessup Global will be launching a new AI assisted learning platform instructing our future technology leaders in a whole new way that lets the progress at their own pace, tailer the learnings to their individual goals and doing so at a price point that will open the advantages of a top Christian University to the global stage.

Let us learn more about his journey:

The Inspiring Origins

K-LOVE Radio and William Jessup University share a commitment to community service through faith-driven missions. K-LOVE began in 1982 as a grassroots initiative in Santa Rosa, California, founded by passionate believers aiming to spread hope via uplifting Christian music.

Over the years, it evolved into a national network, reaching millions while maintaining its core mission. Similarly, William Jessup University, established in 1939 as San Jose Bible College, aimed to develop Christ-centered leaders. Both organizations started with limited resources but grew significantly, exemplifying how faith and determination can lead to impactful societal contributions.
